You might have a problem with your Fuji X100 it without even realizing it. Due to sticking aperture blades the correct exposure is not immediately set and can overexpose.
It is reported as an exposure error in camera rather than a hardware failure. If you are new to the Camera you may think it is your error as you are still learning about how the camera is metering. This problem doesn’t affect all cameras and does not affect any other function.
The firmware updates will not fix this problem (as it is purely a mechanical issue) and Fuji is being very slow is acknowledging the issue. When there is a reliable fix and repair we will let you know.
For the time being, continue enjoying your X100, but keep in mind that your reading might be incorrect.
